Welcome to the third week of my internship under the New Smyrna Museum of History (NS MOH) at the University of Central Florida (UCF). In-between Friday and Monday, I visited my parents and grandparents on my dad’s side at home. Monday (January 26) was the eleventh day of my internship, and there were some issues related to the scanner’s availability that were caused by glitches and miscommunication with other users who reserved it. This was noted by the other team members at least once in our Apple Messages chat (new smyrna), although I did not comment due to a lack of knowledge. All of this actually took place before my shift began at 3:00PM, but I showed up anyway because I had nothing else to do and wanted to do something. Tuesday (January 27) was the twelfth day of my internship, and scanning finally took place. Several dozen pages from the newspaper book I mentioned a couple weeks ago were scanned, cropped, and exported. Me, Nathan Gregg, and Dylan Gilberg worked in a random ...

Welcome to the second week of my internship under the New Smyrna Museum of History (NS MOH) at the University of Central Florida (UCF). In-between Friday and Monday, I got sick and was not able to do much of anything. He did hope though that Nathan Gregg and Dylan Gilberg would find someone (possibly a GRA named Justin) besides Dr. Mike Shier (who did turn out to be our director for the project) and Dr. Brook Miller (our associate director) to help out with the previously aforementioned scanner error I described last ...

Welcome to the first week of my internship under the New Smyrna Museum of History (NS MOH) at the University of Central Florida (UCF). From it, I hope to gain more experience in the field of history and enhance my resume. My name is Thomas Manoly, and I am currently majoring in History (B.A. – Bachelor of Arts) with a minor in Information Technology. Although I have been a student at UCF since the Fall 2022 Semester, I switched over from Aerospace Engineering (B.S. – Bachelor of Science) less than a week after the Summer 2024 Semester ended, which was also shortly before the Fall 2024 Semester began. My research interests are 20 th century, American, colonial, cultural, media, public, and technological history This is actually not the first time I have done an internship, as I had one under People, Religion, Information Networks, and Travel – Migration in the Early Modern World (PRINT) with Dr. Rosalind Beiler as the project director, and Dr. Scot French as the professor for its host ...
