Week 12 - 03/30/2026 to 04/03/2026
Welcome to the twelfth week of my internship under the New Smyrna Museum of History (NS MOH) at the University of Central Florida (UCF). In-between Friday and Monday, I watched 'Project Hail Mary' with my brother and a couple of his friends on Sunday (March 29) at Regal Theaters in Oviedo Mall.
Monday (March 30) was the fifty-sixth day of my internship, and I did scan work after Jack Johnston finished cropping and uploading some scanned newspaper pages to Microsoft Teams. I almost botched the numbering after I accidently scanned a newspaper page twice, though everything was resolved before my shift ended. I ended up doing okay on my two-part exam for CGS3269-0001 (Computer Architecture Concepts) for Section 1 (16 Weeks), scoring a 60 out of 100 overall. Bizarrely, while I only scored a 17 out of 50 on the first part of that exam, I scored a 43 out of 50 on the second part.
Tuesday (March 31) was the fifty-seventh day of my internship, and I did metadata work. Once my shift ended, I needed to go to office hours again for CGS2545C-0001 (Database Concepts) for Section 1 (16 Weeks). The L3Harris Corporation Engineering Center (HEC) building was where I went to for those hours a few weeks ago, and the same applied to this week as well. Compared to the Engineering 1 & 2 Buildings, it felt more comforting and I could have imagined myself trying to nap there on the fourth floor.
Wednesday (April 1) was the fifty-eighth day of my internship, and I did more scan work after Nathan Gregg finished cropping some scanned newspaper pages. During my shift, the sky was gloomy.
Thursday (April 2) was the fifty-ninth day of my internship, and I did more metadata work. One interesting ad I noticed was on page seven of the 6/12/1958 edition of 'The Pelican' that advertised train times across the Eastern region of the United States of America (USA), 'Florida East Coast Railway' being the advertiser, as it has been decades since Havana was serviced by that railway.
Friday (April 3) was the sixtieth day of my internship, and I was not in the office due to my schedule. Looking back, perhaps the most stressful History (B.A.) course I ever took was EUH4574-CW60 (History of Russia: 1801-1917) for Section C (12 Weeks) of the Summer 2025 Semester. This was mostly due to a lengthy essay being required for my midterm and final exam under a short time-limit. Despite that sounding hypocritical given my major, I get stressed easily from exams, especially those occurring pretty early or late in the day, although that stress has somewhat decreased ever since I switched majors.
Have a good day and thank you for reading this blog.
